VR Escape Rooms in Hannover

Escape from an abandoned pyramid as a team, find magic in Wonderland or hunt for powerful artefacts in ancient Greece! The VR escape rooms by Ubisoft or ArviVR aren't video games in the usual sense. With our high-end VR systems you'll step straight into adventurous worlds, as if you were really there. Together as a team you're the heroes of a magical adventure that plays like a film, and in a safe setting you'll live through situations that would be too dangerous or simply impossible in the real world.

In Hannover there are 8 linked, wired VR headsets. Depending on the room you play in teams of two to six, and Frozen Castle and Escape The Worlds even take up to eight players together. Alternatively, the headsets can be split into two groups of up to 4 people each, who play two different VR escape rooms at the same time. Just send us a quick email about that. The Pyramid Room and Medusa Room can be booked for 2, 4, 6 or 8 people in total. Each team has 2 or 4 players; 6 people play as a team of 4 and a team of 2, and 8 people as two teams of 4 in parallel.

VR makes me feel sick. Is this for me?

VR can cause discomfort or dizziness. If you feel unwell, take off the headset and let our team know. You can pause at any time. With our fun guarantee, you can stop within the first 10 minutes without paying.

I'm not a "gamer", are these experiences still for me?

Yes, 100%! VR isn't just for gaming, these aren't classic computer games. VR escape rooms are intuitive experiences with something for everyone, recommended from age 10! If you can talk, listen, walk and grab things, you have everything you need to beat the rooms. The VR escape rooms are non-violent and focus on working together.

Is it a team game? Can we see each other in the VR escape rooms?

Yes, you see and hear each other, and you can't do it alone anyway! You have to work together and everyone has to master their own tasks too. The key is to talk to each other, listen and co-operate. At the end you can even high-five each other. ;-)

I'm afraid of heights, are the experiences for me?

You stand in your own play area. If you feel unwell, take off the headset and let our team know. The VR escape rooms, especially the Pyramid Room, are a challenge for people with a fear of heights. But it's all the more rewarding when you overcome that fear! If you're very anxious about heights, we'd recommend our classic rooms instead.

Are the VR escape rooms any good?

The VR escape rooms by Ubisoft and ArviVR are considered some of the best in the world. Top quality matters a lot to us at Escape Hannover, so we choose all our experiences very carefully and are glad to work with Ubisoft and ArviVR!

How many people can play together?

There are 8 VR stations.

The Ubisoft VR escape rooms can be booked for 2, 4, 6 or 8 people in total. Each team has 2 or 4 players. With 6 people, a team of 4 and a team of 2 start in parallel; with 8 people, two teams of 4. If someone in a team of 4 drops out at short notice and you can't find a replacement, your game master can step in as the fourth player. Groups of 8 can start 2 games side by side, let's see who takes longer!

The ArviVR escape rooms allow 2 to 6 people, so they're ideal for larger groups. Frozen Castle and Escape The Worlds can even be played by 3 to 8 people together.

The VR adventure worlds offer co-operative games for 2 to 4 people and games with 4 against 4 or everyone against everyone with up to 8 people at once, and up to 16 people taking turns.

Are there any restrictions?

The Ubisoft VR escape rooms (Pyramid and Medusa Room) aren't suitable for people shorter than 150 cm. For all VR escape rooms you should also be able to walk, grab, talk and listen.
We recommend our VR escape rooms and VR adventure worlds from age 10. With VR, body height matters more than age; the VR adventure worlds often work from about 7 or 8. For groups made up only of children aged 10-14, we recommend our VR offers for children: Christmas Room, VR adventure worlds and Jungle Quest.

I wear glasses, will that work with the VR headset?

Our comfortable and fairly light VR headsets generally work for glasses wearers too. If your own glasses are noticeably large, we'd still recommend contact lenses for your own comfort.

Is there anything special I need to think about because of the headset?

We recommend comfortable shoes, loose clothing and no up-dos or headwear of any kind. Contact lenses are also better than glasses, especially if your glasses are large.

What's the difference between VR escape rooms and VR adventure worlds?

VR escape rooms are story-led puzzle adventures with 60 minutes of guaranteed playing time. In the VR adventure worlds you switch freely between lots of short games. Both take place in the same VR area, so they can't be booked at the same time. For your first time, we recommend a VR escape room.

How does VR work here?

You play standing up and move freely around your own play area, no armchair or joystick gaming. The headsets are wired, and everyone has their own play area. If you wear glasses, we recommend contact lenses. You need to be reasonably mobile for this.

From what age can you play VR?

We recommend our VR escape rooms and VR adventure worlds from age 10. With VR, body height matters more than age; the VR adventure worlds often work from about 7 or 8. From 10 to 16 an adult supervisor is required, who gets in free for VR as long as they only watch. The Ubisoft rooms (Pyramid and Medusa) are only suitable from a height of 150 cm.

How long does a VR escape room take?

About 80 minutes in total, with 60 minutes of guaranteed playing time, the briefing and a photo. Escape The Worlds is an XXL format with 90 to 120 minutes of playing time and about 140 minutes in total.
