Stand-Up VR Hannover
VR arena Hannover: stand-up VR as a team, what is it all about?

Stand-up VR is what most people mean when they say "VR as a team", and it is a lot more than sitting on the sofa with a VR headset at home. At Escape Hannover in the Tiedthof at Goseriede 4 you move freely through your own room while you are all together in a virtual world. Up to 8 people per slot, everyone sees the others as avatars and works on the same puzzles. Standing, moving, experiencing it together: no armchair gaming and no "everyone for themselves".
You're in the right place if: you are looking for stand-up VR or a VR arena in Hannover, a VR experience where you are out and about together as a group instead of everyone alone in their headset. Whether you are friends, family, a stag or hen party, a team or a children's birthday party.

Three VR formats at Escape Hannover
1. VR escape rooms, a story as a team
Our best-known VR games: Escape the Lost Pyramid (Ubisoft, Egypt in 1928), Beyond Medusa’s Gate (Ubisoft, ancient Greece), Mission Sigma (a mission on a tower block roof), Jungle Quest (jungle adventure, great for kids too), Alice, Christmas and more. You have 60 minutes to escape from a world, together and with a real sense of space.
Right for: groups of friends, families, stag and hen parties and teams who want an adventure with a story and puzzles
Price: from 26 € per person · Players: 2 to 6 depending on the room, 3 to 8 for Frozen Castle and Escape The Worlds; you play Pyramid and Medusa as a team of 2 or 4
2. VR adventure worlds, switch freely between lots of games
Unlike the story rooms, in the VR adventure worlds you switch between different VR games every few minutes, from Beat Saber (rhythm with light sabres) and Elven Assassin (bow and arrow against orcs) to games for kids. Our game hosts help you switch and give you tips. Ideal if you simply want to try VR without committing to one story.
Right for: VR newcomers, groups of kids, birthdays, stag and hen parties who want more action and less story
Price: from 26 € per person · Players: 2 to 8 at the same time, up to 16 taking turns
3. VR and live rooms in Combo Mode, up to 28 people
When the whole department comes along or the birthday group has 18 people: in Combo Mode up to 28 people play in parallel at the same start time. Some teams are in the VR area, others in our three live escape rooms (Hannover Dungeon, Harry's School of Magic, The Bitcoin Conspiracy). Everyone starts at the same time and finishes at the same time, with a shared wrap-up and photo. The highest combo participant numbers are exceptional capacities with less space per person. Regular limits for individual room bookings remain unchanged.
Right for: team building, big birthday groups, school trips, company events
Price: a flat 26 € per person · Players: 8 to 28 in several rooms in parallel
VR arena, VR arcade or VR escape room: what is what?
These terms often get mixed up. A short explanation, so you can find the right format:
✓ VR escape rooms (stand-up VR), our core: cable-connected VR in your own room. You stand and move, and as a team you solve one connected story over a full 60 minutes. At heart we are an escape room provider, and VR is one of the ways to play. Cable-connected means high-resolution graphics without a battery limit, with a cable that is neatly managed.
✓ VR arcade (with us: VR adventure worlds): several short VR games to try out and switch between, for example Beat Saber or archery. More variety than one continuous story.
✓ Free-roam VR on a large floor: a wireless format in a big open hall, usually with shorter, action-packed rounds. We don't offer this format; with us you have your own room and a full hour of playing time.
A word about our choice of games
We chose our VR games to be family-friendly on purpose. With us you don't shoot at human-like opponents. The most intense game is Dream Hackers (hunting nightmares in a dream world); for action there is, for example, Elven Assassin (bow and arrow against orcs from a distance) or the tactical Mission Sigma. Families, VR beginners and groups with a wide age mix are in the right place with us.
Why stand-up VR with us?
✓ Your own room, standing up: you move through your own room, no armchair gaming
✓ Up to 8 people together: all in the same virtual world, visible as avatars

✓ Fun guarantee: stop free of charge after 10 minutes, no fun, no money
What your group gets out of it
Stand-up VR works especially well for mixed groups:
- Moving instead of sitting: you walk, turn and duck. It isn't exhausting, but it is lively.
- Easy to get started: headset on, two controllers, a short briefing, no previous experience needed.
- A real shared experience: you are in the same virtual room, see each other as avatars, and can call out, help and laugh together.
- Cooperation, not competition: in the VR escape rooms you all win together or not at all. Nobody gets left behind.
- Something to talk about for weeks: "Remember when you kept walking in the wrong direction?"

How it works, from booking to the end of the game
1. Book your slot. For 2 to 8 people, book directly online on the VR page or in the list of available slots. For groups of 8 or more or special requests, write to us at info@escapehannover.de; we'll be happy to reply and send you a written confirmation.
2. Choose your room. For beginners we recommend Mission Sigma or Jungle Quest. If you already have VR experience, Beyond Medusa’s Gate is more of a challenge. For families with kids: Jungle Quest or Christmas.
3. On the day. Please arrive on time, no more than 5 minutes early, at Goseriede 4 in the Tiedthof. We welcome you in the waiting area, you leave your coats and bags, and then it's off to the VR area. The briefing takes 10 to 15 minutes: room, technology, rules and story.
4. 60 minutes of playing time. You get a full hour. If you finish the VR escape room sooner, we fill the remaining time with games from the VR adventure worlds. Our game hosts follow you on video and audio and help with hints if you get stuck.
5. Wrap-up. Group photo and a short chat with your game host. You pay on site: cash, debit card, credit card, Apple/Google Pay or PayPal. Payment by invoice is available for companies, institutions and school groups when needed. Private groups normally pay on site. We create it after you have played and send it by email.
6. Out for a meal afterwards. There are no restaurants in the Tiedthof itself, but within 5 to 10 minutes' walk you'll find plenty. With our Escape & Eat offer you get a free soft drink with every main course at our partner restaurants.

Frequently asked questions about stand-up VR at Escape Hannover
What is the difference between stand-up VR and armchair VR?
With stand-up VR you really move through the room instead of sitting in a chair with a joystick. Your movements are carried over 1:1 into the virtual world: you look around corners, pick things up and walk towards each other. Up to 8 people are connected at the same time, and you have your own room. You know armchair VR from a console or PC at home; stand-up VR only exists at VR venues like ours.
Are your VR games suitable for children and families?
Yes. We recommend our VR escape rooms and VR adventure worlds from age 10. With VR, body height matters more than age; the VR adventure worlds often work from about 7 or 8. We chose our games to be family-friendly on purpose, with no games where you shoot at people and no horror. For families with kids, Jungle Quest, Christmas and the VR adventure worlds are a particularly good fit.
Do we need any previous experience with VR?
No. Our game hosts explain everything you need to know in a few minutes: headset on, controllers in your hands, off you go. Most guests quickly notice that it is easier than they expected. If you have never tried VR, you are just as welcome as gaming pros.
Can we come with 3 people?
Yes. Most VR escape rooms (for example Mission Sigma, Jungle Quest, Alice and Christmas) can be played by 2 to 6 people in any group size. Only the Ubisoft rooms Pyramid and Medusa need an even number: 2, 4, 6 or 8 players. If you have questions about which room to choose, just write to us at info@escapehannover.de.
How long does a VR slot take?
About 80 minutes in total: 10 to 15 minutes of briefing on the room, technology and rules, then 60 minutes of playing time, and finally a wrap-up and group photo. If you finish the VR escape room before the 60 minutes are up, we fill the remaining time with games from the VR adventure worlds.
How much does a VR slot cost?
From 26 € per person; the exact price depends on the room and the number of people. School classes, non-profit clubs and social institutions get 5 € off per person. You pay on site by debit card, cash, credit card, Apple/Google Pay or PayPal. Payment by invoice is available for companies, institutions and school groups when needed. Private groups normally pay on site. We create it after you have played and send it by email.
Can we book this as a team or company?
Yes, very gladly. For groups of 8 or more we recommend our Combo Mode: up to 28 people play in parallel in different rooms (VR and live), start together and finish together, with a final photo. Ideal for team building, company outings and Christmas parties. Write to us at info@escapehannover.de.
What if we don't enjoy the VR experience?
Then our fun guarantee applies: if the experience isn't fun for you within the first 10 minutes, you can stop without paying. If you paid with a voucher, we credit the amount back to your voucher code or issue a new voucher (no cash payout). No fun, no money.
